It is time we stop talking and start doing. As a member, you are commited to participate in one Conservation activity per month. We are looking for schools, clubs, businesses and organizations to participate in Fans of the Sea.

Donations

Donations received will be used to promote ocean conservation. Projects include the production and development of a weekly television show that is distributed to millions of people around the world and to support non-profit organizions that have specific projects that promote conservation.

Our goal is to raise enough funds to produce a television production that can be aired on a major network. Other projects include providing workspace and equipment for some of the non-profit organizations to improve and faciliate their activities.

Fans of the Sea "Duck Race"

Thanks to the partnership beteween Fans of the Sea and The Downtown Aquarium individuals and companies can participate in the day of fun in downtown Houston. The day begins with numerous environmental educational booths that the public can interact with and learn more about what organizations are doing to promote concervation activities.

At noon the duck race begins with 5 foot giant ducks that are sponsored by corporations ($100 per duck). The winner will be displayed on the DVD cover for the discs that will be distributed to 1,000 schools around the world.

Following the Corporate duck race, 1,000's of indiividually sponsored ($10 per duck) will be released with prizes being awarded to the first 100 ducks to cross the finish line.

The production of the television episodes and DVD's are very costly with an average cost of $1,000/minute. In-kind donations like air miles help offset these costs.
